Medieval Futurists Mostly Just Predicted Hell

In our age, we have a general schema for the future: flying cars, the cure to cancer, expressive architecture, &c. In the Middle Ages, did people have a schema for the future? If so, what was it? Did they even think about the future? Thank you kindly!
